Throughout my fish keeping career i have been fascinated by these turtles watching hundreds of videos and reading hundreds of forums lustfully soaking up any information i could find, i was extremely fortunate to be able to renovate an old shed of ares with insulation and and wooden boarding then painted over. I then stumbled across a post on a reputable fish keeping selling site here in the uk called aquariust classifieds, a fly river turtle for sale in london!! She was described as needing a late tank and obviously she did. This was the tank she was being temporarily housed in.

She was obviously in need of a larger tank, so as we built the fish room and managed to get the tank, filters exc for the best part of 8 months!! `stumbled across her a couple months prior to the fish room.So pushing forward we finished the tank all up and running, cycling the tank for a couple weeks. Finally travelling for an hour and a half. Some pictures below are of when me and my mum picked her up.

Moved her into a bigger 3ft container as didnt want to transport her in that tiny won the owner had provided.

Within minutes she was eating!! Water looks tinted as had some weird lighting going on at that point.

From then on her shell got better and better improving everyday her personality booming eating out of my hands within a day or 2, the tank has dead coral to buffer ph and i feed her over 7 diffrent types of pellets and 6 diffrent types of fruit and veg and some prawn every now and then

A couple pics from this past month or so!!

All in all my experiences with her have been fantastic a truly amazing animal, she has been an absolute joy with fish and i spend many hours with her.She has been relatively easy to keep but the big water changes would be impossible without the sink and hose in the fish room. As well as this she has been very curious with wave makers and began to push them up out of the water making a funny noise that she thoroughly enjoys.Overall i love her to bits and couldn't live without her!

Any questions feel free to ask!!

She is beautiful!
Is that as big as she gets or will she get even larger?
How is she with the barbs?
Why can’t they be legal in the US?
