Some where
I currently have some RBPs and in the future im planning on getting caribes. now what id like to know is how much more agressive are caribes than the nattereri species in the home aquarium. I kno fish have different personalities but i just wana know in general. any one have rbps than switch to caribes? is there a major difference any info will be apriciated thanks

I suppose they are more aggressive, but it really does just depend on the fish, your set up, the location in the home where you put it.... etc.

That's just the reality.

theres not like a night and day difference in agression?

from what I heard and read they are still piranhas and will act very similar to red bellys.

They might be slightly more aggressive in the sense they will be more territorial and aggressive to each other in the tank. But not in the sense they will bite your hand off when you stick it in the tank.

I am added 3 caribas to my rb tank, maybe I am wrong and they will surprise me.

I have a mixed shoal of wild reds, caribas and pirayas. they all acted similar in the tank but they are more aggressive and bold compare to the captive bred reds I had before.
however, as Rich mentioned above that they won't just bite off your hand when you stick it in the tank.
if that's the kind of effect you are looking for get a Hoplias Aimara.

i just want them to eat things i put in there haha for entertainment and saftey reasons i mainly feed mine krill with the ocasional feeders i try to get more healthy feeders platys when there accesible and rosy reds (never gold fish) i still just dont feel comfortable with the feeder swimming around in there tank for a day or 2 id like them to just eat it. and u might suggest cichlids but i really apreciate other things about piranhas so i really prefer them i love the sparkle they get as they reach adult hood and the blood red bellies. mine right now have a considerable amount of room and are in a low traffic area of my house but theyre not very agressive at all infact theres been a zebra danio in there with them (one of the ones i cycled the tank with originally) hes survived like over aweek with 6 piranhas in a 55 that ive been feeding moderatley but not like soo much lol im about to start a community RB tank haha. Do you suggest waiting till they reach adult hood and see what happens? and what about wild caught reds? big difference?

rosy reds aren't much better than gold fish, platys will be fine tho.
I don't feed mine live but the way they attack smelts, shrimps and fish fillets are just as exciting. the longer you have them the more out of the shell they are and of course will be less skittish.
wild will always a bit more "crazy" than the ones captive bred over many generations.
the old captive reds I had won't eat (non-live) when I'm in the room in the beginning but as they get bigger they will also attack anything I put in the tank.
the caribas and wild reds I have now behaves more bold when it comes to feeding even when they were only 3".
search my username in the media section and you'll find bunch feeding videos.

If you want to do a community tank, do it now. It'll be 100 times harder if you wait til they're an adult. Not sure the whole point of a community tank though if you intend to feed live. How are they suppose to tell the difference between a tankmate and dinner?

A danio surviving over a week isn't anything to worry about but it can give you that hard start on doing a community tank.

haha thanx for the information and BTW the community tank talk was a joke. and JP ill get around to watching your videos thank you very much
