caribes and red belly compatability?

i just watched a video with the two and didn't want to thread jack, however, i was wondering the long-run outcome for a tank like that? i know caribes are much more aggressive but i've also heard you can pellet train piranhas by putting pacus in the tank with them. on paper this seems like its an awesome idea, very aggressive shoal, for the most part, with some filler to make it look like a bigger group. if all were bought as fry, 1"-2" does this seem like a doable setup? and ideas or suggestion would be great.

also, anyone with piranha and crayfish experience.. i have a few too many marbled crays.. would the piranhas pick them up off of the floor? or would they need to be dropped? im just curious and realize the shell/claw mess that will be left over.. thank you!

they are both of the pygo family. you can put red bellys, caribes, pirayas, and terns in the same tank

without aggression?.. sorta like a pygo species tank? how would the two compare in tank habitats and size needed, same for both i assume?

be prepared to loose some piranha. They may or may not be fine together. I have had pirayas kill each other. then again it works for many people. try it and stay home all day.

aha yea thats kinda what figured since the temperaments aren't the same.. i figure as long as i get them at the same size, one or two inches preferably, thee shouldn't be too many casualties

I don't think cariba are more aggressive than rbp. A mixed group can work 5 minutes, 5 days maybe 5 years & same goes with only keeping rbp, or only cariba, ect. Tons & tons of factors from tank size, diet, how many, temp, even individual temperments of the fish, & many many more. Any group of piranha you can & will experience cannibalism at some point.

x2 at what bruner said, also check your state law before buying piranha, if remember correctly that New York state requires permit in order to keep piranha and it's illegal in NYC

too many differing laws with keeping fish in the united states! come to my country. all fish, no problems. but hard to find

sounds good.. ill check it out and see if its feasible to get a permit, im not in the city but even if i was, how often would i have people in my house that care enough to report some fish? i know the dangers of releasing them
