Dear Friends,

I have recently joined MFK, and request you to suggest some good food for my baby australian arowana which i have recently acquired. It is about 2 inches long and i havent brought up and arowana a size this small.

The main problem is lack of availablity of propoer food for these fishes in India. I have tubifex worms, shrimp e, excel red, flakes at home. But i dont think this arowana can probably swallow this. I got the fish only yesterday.

other than this i have a small collection of 1 silver arowana, a breeding pair of sergeant major, 4 bala sharks, 5 RBP and 2 turtles.

Request your invaluable suggestions pl

if you could find hikari aro food sticks thatd be great for your jar. at a size that small id prefer you break them in half pieces so itd be swallowable. welcome to MFK =)

purchase Freeze-Dried BLoodworms from any of your local stores i too started my arowana with that size and currently it is 8"

Im using blood worms on mine right now. And I also use cut up market shrimp, With no skin, tail or head.

try getting it some raw meat

im really not sure if suggesting beef heart is apropreate considering your in India, excuse me if i am

Try Small tetras, also try shrimps. I don't know what part of India you are from. I am from Bangalore and you will get live shrimps and feeder tetras (quarantined) in shivaji nagar. try them i have a 5 inch silver aro it loves shrimps and the feeders. :)

All good advice except beef heart. Fish should not eat food of mammals or birds.
