By far my favorite freshwater puffer species, what should I know about them if I were to get some in the future?

I would look into the care of other carinotetrodon species, especially the redeye types. Probably similar to those.

Honestly i’ve never had any experience with them nor met anyone who has…

i would guess they should be similar to other red eye species, but hard to say how aggressive they’ll be with conspecifics, as some can be notoriously nasty while other can be kept together…

I'd probably end up keeping a pair or a singular one. There is someone on YouTube who specializes in breeding the non pea/imitator carinotetraodon who has bred borneensis.
