I have a BKG that is only eating fish flake right now qont touch blood worms. It is not growing at all presumably because it is not getting enough protien. Does anyone have experience feeding BKGs with sinking pellets?

They have a varied and slow growth. Also they are cb so it might having a affect. I had my old bro take massivore and a generic cichlid pellet. Had to soak it in bloodworm juice. It may not take it right away but eventually mine did with a bit of fasting.

Both my black ghost knives eat carnivore/massivore pellets and frozen tilapia. Mine took a couple of days to try the pellets.

I've had them before and I always fed them a mix of frozen and live shrimp, carnivore pellets, and other meaty items, as well as the occasional cull of a livebearer

I just dropped in about 50 baby guppies, angle fish and ropefish are eating like it's an all you can eat buffet at red lobster.... ghostfish still eating flakes

mine grew slow, loved freeze dried super krill soaked in boyds over night, they are night feeders but he would come out for those, I always fed all my fish sinking pellets, he would forage at night and get plenty that where missed by the oscars, jag, cat fish and pleco, got him about 4" and was 12" or so after 3 years when i sold him off to break down the tank.

Mine eat anything and everything from flakes to bloodworms, krill, cichlid pellets, carnivore sinking wafers and even pleco veggie wafers. Only thing they won't touch is actual vegetable matter. I've never tried feeding them live fish but they do love live crickets.

I also notice that they feed better at night when the tank lights go off or into moonlight mode.

I started feeding mine frozen shrimp when I got it but he also likes bug bites cichlid formula pellets. I feed my tank a variety of foods but those 2 seem to be his favorites
