At the markets they sell different live fishes and one of them was common carp. did anyone every buy them just to keep and not eat?

i have, but i regretted it because all it was is a giant silver goldfish, but i havn't seen any small healthy ones lately, and the price of live carp has risen in S.cal. sometimes they do get these nice black ones with long barbs, im awaiting to get one of those.
Carp are eating machines. They can decimate a pond of all your small fish and invertebrates in short order.
they will live, the hardest part would be transporting them, its alot of stress rushing from the market to ur house with a fish out of water, i usually add water in the bag so it will last longer. the carp tanks should be clean, once in a while i would see dirty ones, but i wouldnt get any carp from a dirty tank.
