Carp/Koi illness + pics

I recently received a carp and he has come down with an illness. I have a lot of pictures of him before he got it, along with after he got it. Basically, if anyone could look over any of the pics and let me know what they think, that'd be great. There are 3 stages to the pics: 1) before hospital tank, 2) after he got out of the hospital tank and before I put him in the main tank, 3) after I put him in my main tank and he got the disease. (I kept him in a hospital for 1 month, doing two treatments of several types of medicine.) You can skip to part 3 below if you just want to see the pics of the disease and suggest what it could be, or treatment.


1) Before Putting Him in Hospital Tank

Left Side Shot - notice the darkened scales surrounding his body. The redness in his mouth is due to being caught.

Right Side Shot - again, there are darkened scales, especially near his head, by the gill. This is not dirt - I tried to get it off, but couldn't. It's pitch black spot by his gills, covering roughly a 1.5 centimeter area.

Part 2) After a hospital tank regiment of: Maracide, CopperSafe, Maracyn-Two, Maracyn-TC, plus aquarium salt, followed by Melafix.

Here's a very good shot of the right side of his dorsal fin. Notice that he is really sudsy now. He appears to make this slime. This is the about the time that I really noticed - I am still not sure if this is normal or not, but it probably is.

Left side of his tail fin. It is red near the bottom. I am not sure if this is normal or not - quite a few of his fins appeared red, and I have seen other carp like this. Please tell me if this is abnormal.

Right side of his tail fin. Not the little bump midway through, at the bottom. It has since turned grayish and then reddish and looks like a little fuzzball. (It wont be depicted below because it is a newer occurence, after I took the shots.) The reddish part that is near the scales near his tail fin is depicted in this shot as well.

Underside, near head. You can see where he was caught. The redness is much less than before, but the redness on his lower lip remains today, and is even bigger now; sometimes it turns white. I am concerned that this may be a symptom of a disease.

Part 3) After I put him in my main tank:
My main tank's water conditions are:
0 NO2 | 0 NO3 | pH 6.0 | KH 0 ppm | GH 180 ppm
I have since brought the pH up to 7.5

I would describe his disease as a somewhat whitish, sort of cottonish appearences on his fins combined with fin splitting and scaleloss near his tail fin and midsection.

Some of these shots are blurry, unfortuantely.

left side, tail fin area. Picture shows scale loss here. It has since worsened quite a bit with about 7 more scales coming off in this area. The area has darkend since after exposing his flesh. I hope that the darkening is the beginning of his scale renewal process, otherwise it's probably a bad sign.

His tail end, right side. A LOT of stuff going on here. He has had a lot of scaleloss here, and I am unsure if this whiteness is the scales starting to return, his flesh underneath, or a lot of the white stuff. I think it's probably the latter. A pretty bad picture (but a clear shot).

Please help make a diagnose and suggest treatments. I really want to save this guy. He still has a healthy appetite and his behavior seems normal, although he does rub his left side against the back of the aquarium. He's new, so he could be looking for a way out, but he does it over and over for hours so it may be that he is trying to rid himself of something. He has only one tank mate and the tank is nearly empty, save for a pipe. There are two Aquaclear 110s and an FX5 filtering the tank.

ANY and ALL help appreciated. Let me know if you need any more information.

No one has any ideas? Please take a look and see if you can help. If there's too many pics, just the 3rd section pics which are captioned stating the white stuff is present should suffice.

I'm not sure why you are asking this, but... if you are are referring to the medicine, it's because I wanted to cure him of any diseases before putting him in my main tank. Or was it something else?

Anyone have an idea what this disease is? It can't be totally new, can it? It's also not, as far as I can tell, your run-of-the-mill disease, though. I can't match it to anything I have researched online.

I waited for a response for a long time. Can anyone help or have any ideas of where I might go to get help? This is a very wierd disease that has progressed since I last posted. Now there is a thin white film (I cannot tell if it is slime or not) that started to cover his head, which then spread throughout his head toward his gills. It also began behind his dorsal fin and has spread from there to his tail fin. This is a new occurance; the white balls of "fungus" described above have gone and come back, but still occupy various fins, including his tail fin.
