I recently received a carp and he has come down with an illness. I have a lot of pictures of him before he got it, along with after he got it. Basically, if anyone could look over any of the pics and let me know what they think, that'd be great. There are 3 stages to the pics: 1) before hospital tank, 2) after he got out of the hospital tank and before I put him in the main tank, 3) after I put him in my main tank and he got the disease. (I kept him in a hospital for 1 month, doing two treatments of several types of medicine.) You can skip to part 3 below if you just want to see the pics of the disease and suggest what it could be, or treatment.
1) Before Putting Him in Hospital Tank

Left Side Shot - notice the darkened scales surrounding his body. The redness in his mouth is due to being caught.

Left Side Close Up

Right Side Shot - again, there are darkened scales, especially near his head, by the gill. This is not dirt - I tried to get it off, but couldn't. It's pitch black spot by his gills, covering roughly a 1.5 centimeter area.

Here's a face shot, right side.

A very good shot of his tail finwith me spreading and holding his fin. Please pay close attention to this one, as I am not sure what to look for here.

Underside, upper (below head)

Underside, lower (below head)
Again, not entirely sure what to look for here.
Part 2) After a hospital tank regiment of: Maracide, CopperSafe, Maracyn-Two, Maracyn-TC, plus aquarium salt, followed by Melafix.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04261.jpg
Left side pictured. He looks very clear now, there are no dark spots. (He is lighter colored because he adapted to a whitish/bright aquarium.)

Looking downward shot (his back/dorsal fin) (lower half)
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04265.jpg
Right Side Body Shot - again, looks clear to me.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04266.jpg
There's a little redness near his tail fin here, on his left side. Sorry that it's blurry.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04270.jpg
Right side head/body shot.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04271.jpg
Right side body shot. Looks pretty clear, but a little sudsy near the bottom fins.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04272.jpg
Another right side head shot, this time depicting his right fin. A close up.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04276.jpg
Here's a very good shot of the right side of his dorsal fin. Notice that he is really sudsy now. He appears to make this slime. This is the about the time that I really noticed - I am still not sure if this is normal or not, but it probably is.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04284.jpg
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04285.jpg
Left side of his tail fin. It is red near the bottom. I am not sure if this is normal or not - quite a few of his fins appeared red, and I have seen other carp like this. Please tell me if this is abnormal.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04287.jpg
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04288.jpg (closer)
Right side of his tail fin. Not the little bump midway through, at the bottom. It has since turned grayish and then reddish and looks like a little fuzzball. (It wont be depicted below because it is a newer occurence, after I took the shots.) The reddish part that is near the scales near his tail fin is depicted in this shot as well.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04289.jpg
Underside, near head. You can see where he was caught. The redness is much less than before, but the redness on his lower lip remains today, and is even bigger now; sometimes it turns white. I am concerned that this may be a symptom of a disease.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04290.jpg
Underside, below head. A good shot of the under fins.
Part 3) After I put him in my main tank:
My main tank's water conditions are:
0 NO2 | 0 NO3 | pH 6.0 | KH 0 ppm | GH 180 ppm
I have since brought the pH up to 7.5
I would describe his disease as a somewhat whitish, sort of cottonish appearences on his fins combined with fin splitting and scaleloss near his tail fin and midsection.
Some of these shots are blurry, unfortuantely.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04353.jpg
Picture of his right side, showing his gills and scale loss.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04354.jpg
left side, tail fin area. Picture shows scale loss here. It has since worsened quite a bit with about 7 more scales coming off in this area. The area has darkend since after exposing his flesh. I hope that the darkening is the beginning of his scale renewal process, otherwise it's probably a bad sign.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04357.jpg
A clear shot of the white stuff forming on his fins. The fin is light colored in area because it split there, and either it has regrown and has yet to darken, or the white stuff has filled in the space.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04358.jpg
A clear shot of right side scale loss and veins underneath.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04360.jpg
A shot of his left side showing the white stuff on his lower fins, scale loss near his tail fin, and the white stuff in earnest on his tail fin.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04361.jpg
Closer shot of the above area.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04362.jpg
Here is the white stuff photographed at a downward angle, with his fin outstretched.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04364.jpg
Another shot of the same fin, this time from the back/underside - it's harder to see here but it's there.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04365.jpg
His right fin and side depicting the white stuff, scale loss in the middle, and scaleloss near the bottom back fin.
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04366.jpg
His tail end, right side. A LOT of stuff going on here. He has had a lot of scaleloss here, and I am unsure if this whiteness is the scales starting to return, his flesh underneath, or a lot of the white stuff. I think it's probably the latter. A pretty bad picture (but a clear shot).
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04369.jpg
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04370.jpg
http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd154/Klern/Carp/Carp3/DSC04371.jpg
Right fin, close up of the white stuff, with fin outstretched. Slightly different angles, very clear shots.
Please help make a diagnose and suggest treatments. I really want to save this guy. He still has a healthy appetite and his behavior seems normal, although he does rub his left side against the back of the aquarium. He's new, so he could be looking for a way out, but he does it over and over for hours so it may be that he is trying to rid himself of something. He has only one tank mate and the tank is nearly empty, save for a pipe. There are two Aquaclear 110s and an FX5 filtering the tank.
ANY and ALL help appreciated. Let me know if you need any more information.
