Now that I'm pretty sure of what I have...

Can a Carpentis or two live with a Jack Dempsey and a Fire eel?

If not the Carpentis what would be good tank mates for a JD and a Fire eel?

Your leaving out the most important factor, what size tank.

Sure they can all get along in a 180+

60x18x26?

I currently have a Carpintis and Jack Dempsey along with two oscars in a tank and it’s working fine. But that’s 72x24x24 and the carpintis isn’t full grown so I have to constantly keep and eye out for aggression.

It really depends on the temperament of the fish, you could get a totally laid back carpintis and Jack and it would work fine. Or a male and female and they could pair and live together in Harmony. Or, they could be fine for a few years and then decide they want to kill each other.

Or it could work. It’s kind of a toss up. You could try it, have a divider ready though because it’s got a decent chance of failing. In a tank that size your Gambling on individual fish personality.

As for the fire eel, I’ve personally never kept one. But I would imagine that with enough hide spots the cichlids may just ignore it. But full disclosure I could be completely wrong.

Good luck

This is not so different as my nano predator tank. Though they are little jelly beans of death.

It's all a crap shoot. Who is going to eat whom? And, who is going to survive.

Thanks for your help.

To maximize your chance, make sure you add both cichlids at the same time. Adding a new cichlid to an already established cichlids territory almost always ends in death. But if you add both at the same time along with lots of line brakes it may work out maybe. I’d make sure to add some other fish as well to take some of the heat off the two cichlids. Maybe some type of barb or top layer fish. Your gonna lose one every once in a while but it may take some punishment off your main fish.

I'll introduce them when I rescape my tank.

I have a bunch of mollies, goldfish, and guppies in there already, dither fish and food.

Sounds like it all should be fun.
