I currently have a 29 gallon. It has A 100 watt light, plant substrate, topped with pea gravel. All the plants are growing GREAT EXCEPT dwarf hairgrass. Ik it does best in sand but i didnt think it did horrible in gravel. What are some easily available carpet plants that grow easily. I've seen micro swords b4. But idk what else ill find. thx

Well I always liked the look of the java moss carpet or you could always go with Cryptocoryne beckettii.

running co2? if not, your choices are limited as a thick carpeting plants are very demanding

nope no co2. But i see people all the time not using co2 with beautiful tanks. and I've never used co2 and my tank looks awesome. as well as every pet store ive been to doesnt use co2 and their tanks are amazing

i might be getting elatine triandra to try out as a foreground plant

yes but awesome tanks and thick carpeting plant are two different things. i have yet to see a non-co2 tank with what i would consider a thick fully carpeted foreground plant

Crypt Parva might grow, E.tenellus will grow, some micro sword sp. nova-newzelandae may grow.
The above MAY grow. Most will need co2. For 29 gal. you can do diy co2 or pour some flourish excel if you dont have any inverts. You have soil substrate which is a good start for non co2 tank. You need heavy root feeders like some crypts. There is a new sub species of our old amazon sword plant which is foreground and supposed to be able to grow in low light too but I have not used it. I think it is called E.quadraticus
