On sundays show i am getting a Carpet Python. I am wondering if any of you guys have ever kept either a jungle, irian jaya, or a jaguar and which do you prefer? Also feel free to post pics of your Carpets.:headbang2

I have an ij and love him to pieces, he is starting to think he is a chondro....
Irian Jayas are the smallest subspecies and will reach 6ft if your lucky. Jungles are kinda in the middle but in my experience tend to be a bit heavier bodied. also tend to have the nicest bright black and yellow contrast. Coastals are of course the largest, can get 12ft.
jaguars are not a subspecies but a morph and can be a number of combinations of subspecies to my knowledge, most of them are gorgeous but tend to be pretty pricey.

Go for what pleases you most. After you get one, you'll probably get them all eventually. Carpets no matter which pattern morph or locale are all very pretty and generally undemanding captives. Good luck!

Just don't get a Diamond, being your first, since it has somewhat more complicated husbandry requirements.

Enjoy your carpet.

thanks guys ur right ill prob end up with them all lol. Right now im prob going to get a jungle or a jag

And when a snake is labeled as a Sibling Carpet what does that mean??

As far as i understand... a sibling...for example a jag sibling... is a more normal looking carpet python that came from the same clutch as a jaguar... I am not positive if this is actually what it is but that is how i have come to understand it.
