Just adopted 2 nice sized blood parrots from petco. impulse pickup, but i figure adopting is always good and they'd have a better shot than being in a petco tank (and rehoming price was minimal). so within 24 hours one of the parrots egg tube is dropping and she and the carpintis have scared everything over to the other side of the tank.

has anyone had much luck with this combo. would keep them more to have than anything else. don't really sell anything and would only give/sell/trade to people interested that would know the lineage.

i feel like the info is spotty but want to know if it's worth the hassle to divide the tank since i don't really want to get rid of the other stuff and do feel like i can divide and give everyone adequate room if need be.

thanks

Just leave them in there, you might get a few survive if your lucky. Not worth saving IMO, if you really want to grow some out syphon a few dozen out and grow up in a separate tank.

What you have are going to be red Texas if they do spawn. Which brings in good money if they're nice 20-150$ and it all depends on genes and looks.

I would get a 10 gallon tank and grow some out for fun and add them to your main tank.

The rest of the fry ship them to me lol

Arnt proper red Texas made from Mammon's or rose queen, bp are mainly Midas so it's unlikely you will get anything very nice. Right?

High quality ones are made from mammons and Rose queens.

You'll get nice ones no doubt will they but stunners most likely not.

These are two crossed with bp X carpintis

Well, we'll see what happens. If she does lay eggs I'll throw the divider up to keep the two separate and see what happens. Like I said it's not something that i really planned out so if it happens it happens. I already have some egg crate for dividing the tank so that's ready to go. I guess i'll just have to put some sponge or something around the filter intake if there are some wrigglers.

if anything it will be interesting for the kids to see if there are some and if there is any interesting development.
