Was thinking of seeing if my Carpintis Thor 20181222_212420.jpg
Would breed with my female Saggitae Goldie Hawn 20181228_231249.jpg

Make my own Flowerhorn and call it "Orange Texan"

What do you all think? Will be simular looking to Red Texans? Or maybe all white like my male Sagittae Casper but with Thor's pearling? Who knows right got to see if they will get along well enought to breed first.

Would be interesting, if you get these two to breed, try and breed the best looking ones to a firemouth until you get the orange flaring gills

Maybe get some 'red texas' looking fry. I think its a good idea. The only texas cross that looks kinda drab is the texas con, the saggitae should make something interesting for sure!

good luck!

I think it will be a fail, with most looking like carpintis. Some of the first generation RT's are orange (very rarely red), only because dark orange reddish colored females are used in breeding. (KKP or fertile RT's)

With a light colored fish such as your sagittae, you won't end up with orange anything. The only question then becomes what to do with all of the hybrid fry?

It's a non thing now.
They were together for two days and ignored each other. Goldie is back in with Casper and they are about to lay thier third batch of eggs. Her egg tube is starting to poke out again.
