Carried Away

Well I broke my self imposed moratorium on adding more poly's to my tank (starting to get full).
Up here in Calgary the only poly's you really see in the LFS are sens and once in a blue moon Endi or ornate.
So when I stumbled upon some CB Del and a new batch of "sens" I could not resist.

My current lap I had flown in from the coast, nice to pick one up locally.

Here they are in the qt tank. The Del is a minnow at 4" inches, the lap almost 11"

Beautiful Congicus! How big is that monster? Nice Lap.

Thanks Hao, the cong is the 3rd biggest in the tank at 20" behind the 20" weeksii (greater mass) and my old ornate which is starting to challenge the 22" mark.

How did you get it to put its gills outside? Im not well versed on Bichers

Like a lot of juvenilles, the gills are absent due to stress at the LFS but when they get settled and stabilized the external gills come back until they get larger.

External gills are found on most juvies, this one just had nubs at the pet store and they really came out after only a week.

Makes for some cool pics.

Whoa, you gotta show pics of the 20" weeksii. Never even heard of one that big before. Mine's just 5".

Ricky has a 19.5" Weeksii. Not as massive as Burbots tho.

That's strange. All 4 of my laps came from Calgary. I picked them up at a Big Al's about 7 years ago.
