I couldn't find the tip of the intake when i first bought my cascade 300. I figured, oh well, my Rhom can't fit up there anyways.... The water gets prgressivly cloudier day by day. Added another filter, a 200 GPH bio wheel. Thats 500 GPH for a 50 gallon tank. Water isn't getting better. FInally, i take out the cascade, and i see three dead feeders in there, as well as the nozzle floating around. I finally clean out the filter and put the nozzle on.

Think that was my problem to cloudy water. As of now it's been 3 minutes since i've fixed the problem. It's a relativley new tank, think this could be part of the "cycle" or what.

Is the cloudiness grey or green? If grey it is bacteria and bad news as if can cause skin and gill problems, getting rid of the dead feeders and a partial replcement of your filter media and a partial water change should clear it up. If it is green it is just algae, annoying but harmless with good water flow to keep the O2 levels up. Reduce lighting and run your waster through a fine sponge media or diatom filter to reduce growth rate and speed water clearing. As the algae use up the nutrients in you tank the water will clear

why wernt the graders one the filers they keep fish from getting sucked up ????? anyways try doing a water change ur water mgiht be cloudy if u have bog wood in there and dident boil it hope it clears up tho

20% water change done. Looks a little better.

I'm also questioning the accuracy of these test strips.

What do you use to test your water?
