Since I'm new here, thought I'd mention a fish which is the subject of folklore in the caribbean. The cascadura is a fresh water fish found in Trinidad covered with many scales, I dont know what the scientific name is, but it is popular as a dish especially when curried.

The cascadura is the hoplo catfish (Hoplosternum littorale). Males grow to 8" and females to 6". They're caught in many waterways in Florida. They can survive in stagnant waters that most fish can't survive in. These catfish have an interesting breeding characteristic in that they spawn in bubble nests.

Welcome aboard MFK!!
