Anyone use one or have a decent brand they use... I saw one at Bass Pro that has very thin metal running through the net to create a perfect circle when you cast it... I wanted to try some live lining and was wondering whats a good one to try or is anyone familiar with the one I saw today?

I might have to check out Walmarts the ones at Bass Pro were like 50 thought that was a little much for a net

What are you trying to catch? For freshwater minnows which are slow a cheap net will be ok. For saltwater fish like finger mullet youre going to need a quality net with alot of lead to sink fast. Trust me, when it comes to cast nets, you get what you pay for. Even the $50 ones at BPS are pretty crappy.

I had one that i got from wal mart and it worked great. I think i paid like 25 for it. I just got a sein net from bps thats 4' x 12'. Havnt gotten to really use it yet but im excited to.

Thanks for the replies I might go pick up one from BP I would be using it in salt, Like JD7.62 said I will probably need one thats going to sink fast with alot of lead

Ive been throwing nets pretty much for the 5 years everyday. I use two different sizes both hand made by a man here in FL by the name of Tim Wade. My 10FT lead core net was $150 and my 12FT lead weight net was $175. Ive had both nets since the first day of commercial shiner fishing and have never replace em...Just to give you an example of the difference between hand made and "wal-mart" or "bass pro", ive caught up to 8 foot gators (not on purpose) in my 12 footer and never broke a brail or lead line..Thats just one example.. If you want to pay 50 bucks at wal-mart for a crap net, you will be replacing it after the first day of using especially if you are just learning how to throw a net, trust me. If you live near a bait shop or salt water bait shop (which is better), go in and ask for a hand made net..You will learn faster on that net, and catch more bait once you get good at throwing.. All bait shops on the coast should carry hand made nets. I hope this helps

I used a cast net from wal mart. Pretty good caught lots of minnows and a few snooks!!!!! To bad they were out of season
