Has anyone fished here? I will be at the park with the kids and want to know if it is worth bringing some gear. I can't find a lot of info, a couple places saying it's well stocked.

Trying to figure out if I should plan for a day at the playground or the pond.

Thanks.

Stocked with bass, sunnies and catfish. Catch and release only. Make sure you have a license and most importantly keep them lines tight:)

thanks. i got a licensee when my son started fishing with the cub scouts but haven't had the time to go out with hiim as much as we planned. i have lures and red wrigglers for bait. that good enough or should i get something else.

though i remember when i was his age (six) a small loaf of bread was enough to keep the sunnies coming in all day.

thanks again.

If your fishing for the son worms is the go to. If you wanted to try and get into some artificial bait. I'd try wacky rigging soft plastic worms or I always have luck fishing top water for bass.

If I were to go bass fishing in jersey today id start with the wacky rig or tube. Big that wasn't doing it id go to a nice popper. Something suttle not to bright.

Of course in the end it doesn't matter what bait you have when you get there and find out they drained the pond. Good thing I brought the baseball equipment too

Hate when that happens, my friend was angry when his favorite pond was drained so they could add a preschool there were 40 and 50 pound catfish that they left to suffocate along with big gar and bass stuff like that is sad

Try finding creeks other people ignore, many of these have way to catch fish, perfect for impatient people to fish
