I don't think Maine coons usually come in black, though. Most likely he has a Maine coon somewhere in his ancestry, maybe as his father, which means he's likely to get fairly large.
You're in luck, Maine coons and their offspring are usually big floofy cats who are great for petting and cuddling.

He is an outside cat for the most part. And is a very good hunter, he killed a huge dove the other day that was bigger than he was are Maine coons good bird hunters

I have a maine coon, black tortoiseshell mix. Lucy is 1 year old and bigger than both of her older "sisters". Lucy has the long heavy fluffy tail, big feet and tufts of hair in her ears. She is going to be size and attitude combined. If that is your cat in the picture, it is a pretty baby. Enjoy your cat and good luck!

Lucy is also the bully of the 3. what she wants, the other 2 let her have. I'm going to see if I can find a pic of her on my computer to upload.

This is my girl Lucy, thinks she is ruler of the house. Princess, my gray tabby doesn't agree with that and Shadow the black cat just sees Lucy as a playmate.
