Hi,
I'd likle to hear your experience with cat fish in big tanks, I'm going to get a 125 6foot tank today.
Please tel me if you keep anything in the tank with your big Cichlids?????
This is what Jeff Rapp says,
The bull head is an aggressive fish. As I mentioned
earlier, other catfish can be successfully kept with large
cichlids.
Pimeloid cats are generally good tank mates. However, the
really giant growing species are not! For example, most
shovelnose species, redtail cats, Paulicea, etc.
If you can deal with a cat that grows to 15-18", the marbled
sailfin and painted sailfin cats (Leiarius marmoratus and
pictus) are great show cats, as is Callophyses macropterus.
These cats will learn to eat pellets from the surface even
while the light is on.
Pellets are what the cichlids are used to eating as well.
Thanks
Jack
