Hello. I am planning to upgrade my 90 gallon and want to grow my current plants out for the bigger tank. I have just over 2.5 watts per gallon and fertalize regularly. I have 75 pounds of regular aquarium gravel and a bag of flourite. My plants are healthy looking but aren't growing nearly as fast as my friend's who has flourite, topsoil, vermichuliate and cat litter. I don't want to make a wholesale change becuase I'm in the market for a bigger tank. Would cat litter help my cause until I upgrade. If so, what brand/kind is safe? How do you prepare it? Thanks.
