Catalina Aquarium Ultra 1000 Canister Filter

Has anyone heard of these? My neighbor stopped by, he is moving and said here take this. I know you will use it...

Now anyone know anything about them? I heard they are Eheim 2028 Pro II knock offs? Anyone help?

I might need some new hoses If I can get them...

I also already did a google search...

I used one in the past. In a few words - wasn't the best in the world.

not trying to be rude, but can you share more? I already have the thing for free, so I am going to set it up, but I need to know what problems you had.

I just got one given to me also. If you go to catalina aquarium's website, you can call customer service and order parts. That is what they told me when I emailed them.

got ya... I wonder if they have returns in black instead of the crappy green color... what where they thinking

I know what you mean. Fortunately if I can get this one to quit leaking, I think it is just a seal, it will go on an old petsmart tank that has bulkheads. I will just hook the hoses up to the bulkheads and you will never see the hoses.

Any ideas of where to find replacement hoses in black? Do you think other brands would fit?

I really don't know. Maybe try Ehiem. Maybe going to one of the big home stores and see if they have black vinyl hose the same size.
