Sure you can. Get some sponge filters for the main tank and zip tie your sump media to them until you figure it out.

Long story short, not so long ago I found myself with 3 buckets full of Tropheus, one bucket full of cycled filter cartridges, an empty tank and no filter.
Luckily I had a small 50 liter tank and some extra sponge at hand. I used the sponge to keep some space at the back and jammed the filter cartridges in the tank. The pump is simply stuck between the cartridges. Took 5 minutes to build. It works and keeps the filter bacteria alive.
Maybe you can build something like that with some of the sump media.

The replacement tank is in the garage as I work out a plan for swapping. Unfortunately, during the move one corner had a chunk chipped off. I’m going to order some weld on 40 to repair the damage and add material to the inside. 
Yes, I have the piece.Ah, that’s a bummer mate. Were you able to recover the chipped off piece? At least being right in the corner it should be a pretty easy & strong fix
