Was thinking of doing a little fishing today and was wondering if anyone knew any ways of catching earth worms. I googled a few ways that look good but was wondering if anyone here knew of a way.

Either the old fashioned shovel, or collect them off a damp lawn at night. If you have a compost bin you can dig through there to see what you find.

Cool i was digging and found a few but I'm a little lazy lol. Another question do any other native... Bugs or insects make good bait? Only targeting panfish.

worms make best bait because bluegills and other sunfish will nibble on the bugs too much and likely reduce it to nothing.
also, look under logs, and other structures in the shade
also, are u gunna fish the saginaw or tittabawassee river?

There is a tree called a black walnut tree. Its seeds are poisinous to worms. Try and go collect some black walnut seeds. Break open the seeds with a hammer, dump everything except the shell in a bucket. Fill the bucket with water and mix it, cover the bucket. Go to a nearby area like under a tree or in a field. Dump water there to attract worms, then about an hour later go and dump you walnut "tea" all over that area. The walnut "tea" suffocates the worms. So the worms head to the surface to breath. They then come right to you, where you take them and put them in a bucket for your uses. I know this is a lot of steps. But, it really pays off. I have a couple black walnut trees on my property in my house in ny and I tried this near my moms garden and I got about 50 worms in an hour or two. A big 5 gallon bucket will do when mixing the tea. When pouring the water to attract them, spray it in a general 5 square foot or so area. Then spread the walnut tea everywhere. Its also awesome to watch as you can catch up to 1000 worms this way if you use a big enough area or a worm rich area.

Probably neither I'm going to go probably go on a lake in neighboring buena vista. I can never catch fish on the river even though i live like less than a 3 minute drive to the Saginaw river lol.
