Hi i was wondering how do you catch eels in your fish tank all mine do is burry under the rocks. should i take the rocks out? what do you guys do and if there was another thread on this sry

I have 2 morays that live in a castle(a sunken castle, but a castle nonetheless) they like to poke their heads out when hungry. Try defrosting some frozen minnows and coaxing them out with them or drop in a live earthworm or two. They are nocturnal by nature so don't expect them to be out in the open much when the lights are on.

Whenever I have to move one of my 2 tire track eels, I know I'm in for a chase. Just be prepared to move things out. Once you catch your eel, the rocks, plants, etc . . . Can easily be placed back in the tank.

Try putting a couple of lengths of PVC pipe in the tank, appropriate to the size of your eel(s). Eels find these almost irresistable after a while. Once inside the pipe, you simply block each end with your hands and lift the pipe out. Or put a big net over one end and tip the eel out into it.

Every time I have to move a spiney.. I remove all the decor.. and slowly coax the fish into the net... chaseing it around with the net is only going to freak the fish out and end up with them or you getting hurt. put the net into the tank against the glass somewharere and use your hands/fingers to carefully coax the fish into the net. then move fast. I try to kinda "wrap it up" with the net so the fish can't thrash alot. never hurt myself or a fish this way... this method works real well with cichlid and other "smart" fish as well.

I just stumbled upon this thread..haha
I recently just had to move a bunch of my fish around into different tanks and my fire eel ,I'm not sure because he knows that my hand ect means a meal, and I can pet him..but he literally swam right to my hand and I just had to move the net a little and he swam right in...

My friend helping me catch and move fish around that day was like "wow how is he so chill when all those other fish you have are nut-so" lol...
