Hello everyone

Is it dangerous to feed Feederfish like small redfinperch or small barbs when they were catchet in nature?

Sorry for my bad English, im from Switzerland...

Thanks for Responses

You can quarantine and treat the feeders for parasites but there is always the risk of something being passed on to the fish that eats them.

If you can catch a bunch, setup a separate tank just for them. Then quarantine them carefully for at least 1 month to make sure they don't have any diseases.

If they are easy to breed then I would try that too, that way you have a constant supply! That's what I'm doing with guppies right now. They are much better and safer than goldfish.

isn't it easier just to buy a couple hundred Fathead minnows or Shiners from Bait Shop and quarantine them and treat w/ Polyguard and feed metronidazole-soaked foods?
