Catching feeders

I saw a recent post by headbanger_jib and he said he catches his own feeders. Any body else out there do this? I'm in Harrisonburg so I live pretty close to a lot of streams and a few lakes. You use minnow traps or nets or what? I might give it a shot if it's worth while

i decided to try this when the river by my apartment was down and minnows were caught in pools. i just took a big tupperware bowl and one of my bigger fish nets scooped about 50 up and placed then in my extra tank then fed them to my fish. no problems havent been back since the water is like 5 degrees in MI.

I have done this, we just use bait nets. In the summer months there are so many gambusia in the shallows you can catch them with your bare hands
