Among the fish in my tanks.
I have a dream of catching apistos and other dwarf cichlids in The Rio Negro basins. And I know I am gonna go and catch them with my own hands.Hehehe:D:grinno:Do you dream of catching your favourite fish in their natural habitat?

YES! somone else who loves dwarf cichlids!
A little background.
I was born in brazil and still have a home there but am currently in the U.S.A and will be for the next 6 months.
I love Apistogrammas, Taeniacara, and Dicrossus And my all time favorite fish are A. paucisquamis, Taeniacara candidi and A. pertensis (sp?) (true pertense not the common A. cf. pertensis.)
Anyway i have dreamed of catching A. pertensis, A. paucisquamis, A. gibbiceps, T. candidi, A. agassizii and more and have caught most of them.
I will make a list of links to my best fishing adventure on my blog at passionate4pikes.wordpress.com

If you want to see Large mouth bass fishing stories, the first and the second contain a lot of bass pics.
If you want to see pictures of the turtle i had, apistogramas, taenicara and more keep going back through the pages.

Yes, I do dream of catching my favorite piranha in it's natural habitat, but I don't think I am going to catch one with my hands (Lol). But, yes I do dream of one day going to my home country and getting a piranha for my home aquarium. I was born in Bogota, Columbia in South America and I was raised in the U.S.A. So, I do not know much about where I was born. That would be cool to go to my home country and bring home my favorite piranha (Serrasalmus Rhombeus). I do own one, but not the same as if I were to go and get one myself from the wild. Cool dreamin'

Awesome articles, P4P! I'd love to go on some of those collecting trips some day. Do you ever ship out of the country?

I'm going to try to collect some Mountain Redbelly Daces from a local creek if I can set up an appropriate tank for them. They're quite possibly one of the prettiest North American native fish, and only found in Virginia and a small part of NC.

yeah! I've read your article before and its awesome. And have you ever caught I.Adoketa?Next time if you catch them do show us some natural habitats of these species.

i sometimes wish piranhas were indigenous worldwide (atleast have a morph or strain in the genus per region). that way they could be local to hawaii. lol.

i like to argue with people who say "if its easy to obtain its no longer cool". people who live amongst them boast and love them to this day.

i REALLY enjoy all my free fish that i catch. and if they are native it lessens the impact of catch/release.

i would love to go fishing for pbass, rtcs, aros(like the ones showed on river monsters :D lol)

I would love to go catch some wild Oscars and Discus as well.
