What non native cichlids have you caught and where? I read a thread about Florida having everything. Peacock bass, oscars, jags, mayans and etc. Lucky bastards. Lol. Up here in Chicago no cichlid is going to survive our winters. Which is a good and a bad thing I guess.

A few of our waterways are infested with the tilapia cichlid, and after the qld floods in 2010 alot of other aquarium fish entered the water ways, hear stories about ppl catching massive jack dempseys n peacock bass lol

Early this year I went fly fishing in Hawaii and caught too many Peacock Bass to count. I am returning the the islands the last week in October and am doing it again..user2_pic53_1301811324.jpg

I have caught two tilapia that tied the Texas state record of 19.5 inches.

This one was decent, I don't like the little ones though. The meat is too soft.
