catching/transporting synodontis

Hi just wondering if anyone has any advice on catching and transporting synodontis catfish. I'm getting rid of my bigger synodontis notatus and have heard that they can damage nets & get stuck in them and they also destroy bags.. Was thinking of maybe half filling a bucket but how to catch it?

Yeah i was considering trying to pick it up but i've heard they can give you a nasty spike? The tank is 5ftx1.5x1.5 and a bit more heavily decorated than in the pic and the synodontis is about 6inches..

try to chase him into a drink pitcher or big Tupperware and pour him in the bucket

You can use a fine mesh net and it won't get stuck. If you bag it I would triple bag it.

thanks for all the help guys just caught him by pushing him into a fine mesh net and gently letting him out into a bucket, much easier than i thought!
