Hi guys I have a 6x2x2 tank that I'm going to stock with probably a jaguar cichlid and scape it with sand, rocks, some driftwood and maybe some plants if the jaguar leaves them alone.
On the bottom I'd like to have some kind of catfish because since I was a child I've always thought they were really cool.
So which species could I have in there?
You are gonna want a species which is big enough not too be eaten and not too aggressive but can hold its own here are some options for you
Featherfin catfish(gets 8-9inches, very hardy, will stand up for itself)
Synodontis angelicus (one of the rarest synodontis and best looking catfish, gets 8-10inches)
Synodontis Decorus (gets 10-14inches, peaceful but hardy, good scavenger and looks good)
Giant Black upside down catfish (basically an jet black upside down catfish on steroids, quite rare, gets 12-16inches, will stand up against most fish if picked on)
Dwarf giraffe catfish (gets 8-12inches, full of character, will eat small fish, looks cool, not aggressive)
Frogmouth catfish (looks like a big ass leaf, gets 7-8inches, will eat fish up to half its size, unusual but isn't active)
Ornate pimelodus (big pictus catfish, likes shoals, gets 8-9inches)
Clarias catfish (gets 16-22inches, can be quite aggressive, full of character, might be banned in the US though)
