i got two 1 foot hybrid tsn/rtc. and 1foot tsn in a 180 gallon. i got baseball field turf for gravel and ready to go. and tips on to keeping the gravel in place? im want to put grass looking plants all over the ground, and maybe some sword plants. has anyone done catfish with plants before?

my chrysichthys cat is just a baby but i can tell from how he darts all over the tank... plants wont last long with him once hes big.
i recommend java moss and some of the low growing anubias species... maybe some bigger anubias up against the walls. those should hold up against any cats activities.

yeah i was hoping to put plants in the middle im going to hafe to move my halide back more then. i was going for a low tech planted tank java ftw.

man ive got an 18watt T8 over my 38gal tank, and my anubias thrives, and my java fern does fine. low tech ftw is right haha. i need some java moss.

good luck with your cats.

i see why people go for the safe little fish and some big fish for very nice planted tanks :(. i can probably pull it off by putting bigger stones on top of planted turf gravel. maybe planting first then bigger stones gravel? and whats pushing the gravel the most, is my 1600gph rec pump in the tank.
