i was at the shedd aquarium over the weekend and they had a huge catfish in there amazon section that was brown and had spikes coming out of its side any one know what it is?

oh yeah i tried taking a picture of it but the tank it was in i kept getting a really bad glare and the board that said what fish where in the tank you could barley read because it was faded.
Sounds like oxydoras niger or a similar doradid. They have a bunch in the larger amazon tank with the big arapaima and tiger shovelnose.

there are many smaller more manageable cat's with the tooth-like spikes. Many of the raphael cats...
