catfish chasing cichlid will cichlid be okay????

my 8 inch Asian upside down catfish chased my 6-7 inch pearsei cichlid well now the pearsei cichlids face is a little blackish the catfish was in there for 2 days but i moved it yesterday he is staying near the bottom of the tank do you think he will recover soon because i don't want to worry about about him on Christmas he is not hurt just stressed he is in a 65 gallon tank.
 
He should be okay as long as nothing else in the tank is stressing him. Give him a few days and he should be much better. I would also check the blackened portion of the Pearsei's head for any signs of a wound from the catfish or from a piece of decor while being chased. Usually frequent water changes and a little salt in the water will help promote fast healing.
 
i just ran out of salt but i remember having an extra so i will look for that his head looks a little better but she won't eat can someone please tell me how to sex them please thanks Gruff master
 
the only piece of decor is a cave i build with stones from our patio mabey he was attacked in the head or hit the cave or maybe he hit the filter or heater
