could any large catfish go in a 75 with a reddevil.like a shovel nose or tigrinus

Be careful my RD picks on my cat relentlessly. Make sure the cat has lots of hiding places.

75 is too small for either of those catfish, do a search for a smaller species that may make it in a 75 but i doubt any would last with a red devil

my 10inch RD had a marbled pim as a tank mate, worked well untill the cat hit abouts the same size as him then he killed the cat, no warning helthy cat lights out (night time) dead can in the morning:(
my little pic cats was fine with him they was in the tank B4 the RD and now the RD has moved they are all still there, not what you want but they work:grinno:

In a 75 with a rd most fish are going to get murdered to be honest and the species that could stand the rd probably grow far too big or could kill your devil. to keep a 2ft catfish you need at least 3ft width and 6-8 ft tank length.

soribum lima , shovel nose are far too delicate and i wouldnt to subject a tigrinus to a rd anyway cos they are way too expensive.

and the tiger shovelnose get to 4 foot easily, and could eat your devil at that size.

sorry to be negative but most big cichlids make life a misery for catfish companions.

I'd have to agree with the others, in only a 75 gallon your rd is better off by itself. any tankmates run the risk of being murdered without warning. :)

I have a synodontis eupteris in there, works out pretty well. He picks on the syn, but hasn't really hurt him at all.
