I am getting a 75 gallon aquarium on monday with a red shoulder severum, geophagus, Firemouth, and possibly a Pumpkinseed once well established. Though, I am not sure if the catfish that I want to get would be compatible with each other and the other fish. I am putting my striped Raphael catfish in from my 30 gallon so it is a definite as well as my sailfin pleco which is going to my friend when it gets to large, but was wondering if there is ANY possible way that I could get a bullhead catfish (Either brown or yellow) and it would get along with my other fish long term. Again, if there is any way I could get the bullhead, I would be willing to change any fish except the Raphael cat and the pleco.

Bullhead should be Compatible. You may need to upgrade your tank in time though. . What type of filtration will you be using? Just remember the bullhead will eat whatever fits in its mouth.

I have a fluval canister filter (sorry can't remember the exact name not good with that stuff) I think it's rated for 100 or 125 gallons though.

I am not sure the growth rate of a bullhead but the tank will be 76 or 77 F. I am working on remodeling my house and may get a 100 or 125 gallon in my basement when done. Would that be big enough and how long can the bullhead stay in the 75 (size wise)?

Well the bullhead can get over 12" long. How big is the fish you are getting? Couldn't really tell you how long it could stay in 75g . Depends on size of fish. Would be ok in a 125 for a while.

When I get it it would probably be 3.5 or 4 inches but I can't really on the idea of putting in it a 125 because it may be over a year or so before I can get it.

I am also not getting the fish for at least 3 or 4 months either but even more than tank size I am worried about compatibility with my raphael catfish. If he outgrows either the tank or the fish to fast I will build a small pond in my yard for it if I have to.
