the petricolas are pretty cool, are they predatory?
Depends on what you mean by predatory. If you want them to eat a fish their size no. If you mean eating cichlid fry or other fry yes. Small bugs, small worms, I threw a piece of tilapia in with them someone ate it it was gone a couple hours later the other fish left it alone had to be the catfish. Them going out of their way to catch and eat something is probably not going to happen unless it's small fry or something like that.

ok interesting, I was thinking maybe like feeding them pellets 2-3 times a week then maybe 2 or 3 mollies every month

if I got the petricolas how many should I get?

I think I may have to do the jag, im checking with a guy to see if I can

Those large bumblebee catfish like the one in the photo are extremely predatory, as i found out to my cost some years back !
Petricola x 5 really, they're supposedly better in higher Ph 8 - 8.5 but they're a nice fish.
Jaguar Catfish are really, really cool but you won't see much of him. They're not as difficult as made out to be though, they tolerate a wide Ph, about 4.5 - 7, more acidic being better but as long as you keep plenty of wood in the tank and nothing that it can fight with they're not too bad. They're not armoured like a lot of catfish so you need to make sure they don't get into trouble in that way. Feed things like prawns, lance fish and carnivore catfish pellets.

jaguar catfish will even wedge themselves vertically in between the heater and the tank. They'll spend a large portion of the day wedged. Can't speak for 9p,-3am since I'm generally asleep.

My bumblebee is a very much ambush predator I tong feed him earthworms, shrimp, bloodworm cubes, and soon tilapia. He doesn’t touch until it gets within his strike range and gulps in in super fast.
