Catfish Farts?

I have about 10 catfish in my tank, 5 of which doradids. None of my cichlids, bichirs or loaches do it and not the plecos, but my doradids fart all the time. no smell or apolozies but little bubble from the back end. is this common? anyone else have farty fish?

Hahaha too funny. I have not observed this phenomena though.

I have never seen this, but I have a theory. Do you feed floating food? When my ripsaws eat off the top, they slurp a lot. It would not be surprising if they ingested air...

Yes, most armored catfish (besides plecos) put air through their digestive tract. Cories, portholes (callichthys), etc. all do it from time to time as far as I know.

Weather loaches do it a lot too. It's a pretty common occurrence for fish that store oxygen in their system.

My oscars fart after they eat floating pellets. lol.. I said fart...

My oscar farts and he acts really wierd when hes dropping a duece like hes really having a hard time pinching it off.
