Hi everyone- I love to have one catfish , which catfish will be good in to 125 gallons for life - thanks ?

Pimelodus, ornates, and blochii. Other cats like lima, synodontis sp, and drfitwoods would work as well. What are the potential tankmates? Setup?

With red tail giant gourami about 6” right now

Know they get big. Not sure about aggression so would be cautious about adding any additional fish.

RTGG get too big for the 125. As for behaviour, they can be a bit boistrous , especially in smaller confines but generally any kind of Pim cat or giraffe cat should be fine, although like all fish, different ones will have different temperaments.
If/when you look to replace the RTGG there are a number of different options for large, sociable or unsociable fish as show pieces, but unfortunately the fact is that the RTGG will get as long as your tank is wide.

The concerns are valid above with respect the RTGG size, yet you could enjoy it for a long time still, perhaps even several years.

As for the catfish, there are too many that can live out their life in a 125 gal even in addition to the above listed. RTGG usually don't pay attention to non-gouramy fish but not always, so it is a gamble. Still, IMHO worth pursuing.
