Been fish keeping for years, have kept many different types of fish but I have never kept any type of catfish and I'd like to change that.

Tank is a standard 125 gallon, only stock that is for sure is a Male Gold Saum.

The only two types of catfish I have ever looked into (and may end up going with) is a small group of Pictus and the Red Whiptail.

What I'm looking for in a catfish is something interesting looking, active and nothing that gets too large that it will try to swallow a 4" cichlid (while I haven't finalized my stock just yet I am looking at some earth eaters).

Ornate pin, 4lined pimelodus, hoplos, some ageneiosus catfish, and some driftwood catfish come to mind.

+1 and bagrids

like sun catfish or Asian USD cat. Ime, your best bett will be the USD and 4-line since they defend their selves best ime.

Asian USD Cat might be your best bet, very rowdy cat. My brother has one with a Texas and an oscar and the thing went head to toe with the texas when it was first introduced.

Otherwise larger synodontis cats, jaguar cat, striped raphael, 4 lined pim, or a eclipse cat would make decent aditions to your tank.

4 Lined Pim, Trachy Trachy, Lima Shovelnose there are plenty of options.

Lima shovelnose, pictus, raphaels, hoplo, 4lines, a nice school of emerald cories would be cool too. They get decent sized in the right setup
