Catfish for cichlid tanks

What would you recommend that doesn't grow much larger that 12".

Smaller species of plecos or synos, some species of pictus cats look nice too.

Thanks for the reply. I probably should have been more specific but i was wondering which ones would be able to hold their own with the aggression in a cichlid community.

u could try eclipse/sun cats, horabagrus brachysoma, they usually max out at 12" but can grow to 18

syno eupterus mine lets me stroke his side he is almost 9" now I've had him for 6 months since he was around 4".

I have 3 and they do very well with my Oscar and Jag. Pretty active too. Can be skittish but have had them eat from my hand and when I do water changes they swim up to my hands and allow me to pet them.

These are cichlid-safe.

Raphaels and sun cats are a good choice too.
