catfish for malawis..

Walking catfish right. It would be fine until it gets big (40in) and eats everything. If you get some of the giant haps it might work for a little while. Probably in the end though it would be a better idea not to. I would suggest trying some CA or SA cichlids instead.
Synodontis multipunctatus or njassae or any of the Tananyika Synodontis will do very well with your Malawi's.
I would love to see pics of your 300g as a tank of Malawi's. Make a terrfic show in a bigger tank. Have a chap here in town who has a tank of around 1200-1500 litres and then another of 4500 litres. Fish look fantastic in those tanks. The 4500 tank has all sizes with around 100-150 fish in it. Amazing to see this tank.
