cichlid city
would a shovel nose be able to live with a rd in a 75 when it is around 6 inches.just wonderin because i want a scavenger to pick up a lil food.

a lima sure

i think once the RD matured it would trash the lima, and a TSN would get much too large.
what about a talking cat species? you wont see it much, but it should be able to clean up left overs while the cichlid sleeps, theyre also very well armored.
from what ive noticed, most shovelnosed species are also more or less a hunting species, rather than a scavenging type. have you tried a pleco? i have had ok luck with them and my cichlids.

i need to rephrase that. a BIG lima.

I wouldn't recomend putting any catfish in there...Period. You're going to have enough waste from your RD alone once he hits the 10 inch mark. Unless your RD is very passive (which is extremely rare), your catfish is going to be killed eventually.

if u find a big enough purruno catfish that may work, once again there are no garentees. rds are very agressive fish and may even pcik on purrunos but i thiml it possibly can be done.
