catfish ID help please?

I bought this guy at the LFS for a song, they had him labeled as a mystic catfish. I have had friends disagree and throw out an array of species it could be.

FAIL! thats a lima shovelnose bro
hopefully you have a pretty decent sized tank
they get to about 20 inches ish
 
nice size on that one tho. bet you you got him cheap cause obviosly the fish guy there has no clue about fish lol
 
remember hes a predator so dont be suprised if he eats any of your other fish if theyre small
plus he wont eat common flake food
 
He is about 10", scored him for 11.99 at Big Al's. Good deal?

Question:

I find him swimming around quite a bit, but I also find him in a peculiar position often as well. He is facing STRAIGHT down, facing the bottom of the tank, pretty much perpendicular to my intake hose on my Ehiem filter. He will sit like that for what seems hours, and then start swimming around looking for food and then be "normal" and then go back to being completely upright. What is going on?

SCORE! Those pellets will be great! Never owened a Lima Shovelnose, although I beilieve that behaviour is normal.
