The biggest difference between these two species is size. The Pimelodella avanhandavae is stated as only getting from 2"-3", where as Pimelodella gracilis gets up to 6".

from head to tail about 3 3/4"

Based on that, I'd have to go with the gracilis. Either way, it's a neat looking cat.
