I just got this guy today. The Petstore had no idea what he was. I was wondering is anyone could get an ID on the fish? I don't think its a South American Bumble Bee Catfish, it has a different pattern and is about 3" already. It was hard to get pics of it, but if you need a better pic to ID, I'll get more.

Looks like Pseudopimelodus bufonius, the giant bumblebee catfish.
heres a link to its profile on planetcatfish.com... look through the images and see if thats what you have.

That's what I thought it was. And I'm glad someone else thinks so too. I've been looking for one of these, and the other one I found was for $20 plus $20 for shipping. So I guess paying only $8 was a nice find.

yeah im pretty sure its a giant bumblebee cat. giant bumblebee cats are the only ones with a lateral black stripe on the dorsal fin.

cool. could you post pics of him once hes settled into his tank?

Sure, I'll see if I can tonight once all of the lights go off and he comes out. Right now he is in a 10-Gallon. I plan to move him and the Asian Bumblebee Catfish into the 60-Gallon once they get bigger.
