So this was sold to me as a bumblebee catfish it looks bigger than the normal mini one microglanis heringi that you see so often, but it doesn't look like p. Bufonis either and I know these are terrible pics but the day I picked hi. Up was hectic and I didn't take pics of him in the bag and today was waterchange day so I could catch him out and about I summon the catfish gods!20210411_155359.jpg20210411_155110.jpg20210411_155055.jpg20210411_155041.jpg thebiggerthebetter thebiggerthebetter necrocanis necrocanis Fishman Dave Fishman Dave

Looks like pseudomystus siamensis.

Also know as the Asian bumblebee catfish.

I think so when it looks alot like this particularly when it's more relaxed it almost blacks out completely during its first waterchange (today's picture)

thebiggerthebetter thebiggerthebetter why what do you think it is? I value your opinion quite highly on this subject

I've no particular alternative in mind but merely practicing due diligence because the members of the Pseudomystus genus seem to look so close in appearance. I'd hate for us to miss something rare, rarer than the ubiquitous ABBC.

Snap some photos some day when it is in a relaxed coloration when/if you can, if you care. These fish are not maniacal hiders so it shouldn't require sitting half a day crouched up and rubbing cramps out of one's legs in a deer hunter (photo)ambush likeness.

I am not arguing with Dave either. I'm pretty sure he is right but hope floats, you know, that what if this is something rarer...
