Catfish ideas for 1000 gallon

So I'm working on a 1000 gallon plywood tank that will have aggressive cichlids in it. I would love some cats but they need to be hardy and tough and I'd like them to max no larger than 24 inches. Any suggestions?

I like that guy. I have a 12 inch regular pitcus that I love but I'm afraid he is too soft bodied to go in with rowdy cichlids this size. Are these guys very similar?
