Catfish Injury

Hello,

At my daily inspection of my fish I noticed that my catfish had the mark in the picture below. Am I correct in thinking that it could be a heater burn opposed to being from a fight with one of the inhabitnts.

I have had him/her from just over 1/2 an in to current lenght of just over 4 inches. The aquarium is well planted with several hiding places from the wood and this is the first time I have had this problem.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

my wifes little wood cats get that too from being too close to the heater . i think you can pick up a plastic heater gaurd to prevent that

Thank you for the help. I will pick one up at the weekend. The water quality is good and he/she is eating well so it should heal fairly soon.
