catfish pond in the uk

well if u had any bigger plans a wels could work

I will be building my own pond using an Intex(American Brand) 10 foot diameter and 30 inches deep pool. I will be going pretty ghetto with this pond considering I am on very limited rescources(Can only work so much in high school) and only 17. I will be diy'ing a filter. I have bought a pondmaster hy-drive 4800 gph pump, and 3 totes. I will make a rack with scrap lumber laying around the house to support all 3 totes above pool height. I will be using a downflow filter design using several filter socks, some coarse filter pad, and some polishing filter pads. For biomedia, I have found a GREAT deal on 40 gallons of bio balls-only $50. I will use an additional 20 gallons of pot scrubbies, and another 20 gallons of lava rock. All Filter socks will be in the top tote along with the filter pads and the 3 300 watt heater I have purchased. The second tote from the top will have bioballs, and the bottom tote will have scrubbies and lava rock. I am using the filter above the tank because there is no chance of leakage if there is a power outage( plus I don't care how ghetto it looks):) I will use 3 400 watt shop lights ($8 a piece) The pool will not be covered because it will only be in a 15X20 room in the basement. Get a great dehumidifier. I will be using a 45 mill pond liner inside the pool because I will be keeping large cats and I dont want to risk the pool liner getting poked. I will also be using around 600 lbs of play sand for substrated. MFK has helped me alot with all this.:)

Edit: For stocking I am going to have 1 rtc, 1 tsn, and maybe 1-3 pacu. IMO, you should do the same. Instead you could also go with a school of bala sharks, or even a school of lsn. Large south american cichlids would also look awesome. I think that was my longest post ever:)
